Los Angeles and New York Commercial Casting Director Terry Berland of Berland Casting is mourning the loss of the passing of “Gidget the Chihuahua“.
Terry Berland cast Carlos Alazraqui as the voice of the Chihuahua that launched a stunningly successful campaign for Taco Bell.

I can so relate to the mourning. I lost my beloved Chihuahua 5 years ago and I still miss her, even though she couldn’t act like Gidget and cost me money rather than bringing in an income of her own!
Terry–you should feel great you discovered her, and did your best for her and her owner.
Let me help you here, Terry did not discover or cast the dog, she cast the actor who did the voice-over for the commercials.
